Many IRAs have more money in them than owners will ever need for income. This gives them the opportunity to be more philanthropic than they may have ever dreamed.
IRAs can be simple ways for donors to support your organization both now and in the future. Outright gifts through Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD) or beneficiary designations do not require rewriting estate plans. Additionally, inherited IRAs are increasing rapidly. Congress recently required most heirs to complete the withdrawal of inherited IRA funds in 10 years. This can offer significant philanthropic opportunity for your institution or organization.
