If you sit with nonprofit leaders of any stripe and type and ask them what they really need, this response will almost surely be in their top 2-3, if not #1.
University presidents say this.
Nonprofit CEOs and executive directors say this.
College deans say this.
Program leaders say this.
Athletics directors say this.
As advancement professionals, our role is to help (in various charitable ways) meet the financial resource needs of those who are directly serving our institution’s mission and vision.
We should be the models of impactful charitable giving – regardless of the gift amount.
So, do you personally give unrestricted to support those organizations you believe in? If you don’t, it’s worth asking why.
