On Demand Webinar
Welcoming a new leader to your organization is a challenge for many reasons. For the advancement team, we must be especially thoughtful about how we plan for and welcome a new President, Head of School, or CEO because they will be directly dealing with our boards, donors, and prospects who have been cultivated and nurtured by our past leader. Managing this changeover can be tense or smooth sailing, but our preparation as an advancement team can make all the difference in how the turnover is perceived and handled.
In this On Demand webinar, we will discuss the important role advancement plays in the preparation for and onboarding of new leadership. This includes work with prospects, boards, events, and stewardship. Navigating us through this program is Mike Littell, Gonser Gerber Senior Consultant and Vice President for Advancement at Saint Xavier High School. In 2019, St. X suddenly lost their long-term president, and Mike and his team have spent the last few years preparing for and onboarding their new President, including welcoming them to their team during the pandemic!
Topics we will cover include:
- An advancement team prepares for a new president
- Who should a new leader meet first?
- Events, programs, and leadership
- The work of a VP when a new leader comes on board
- Moving beyond their first year as a new leader
