On Demand Program
Donor recognition societies can be more than just listing a donor’s name in the annual report. Institutions that make a point to recognize what donors are contributing annually, and what they have given cumulatively over their lifetime, do a better job stewarding donors and preparing these donors for large or mega gifts. Donors appreciate being reminded by an institution about their continual, lifetime giving efforts, because it demonstrates that their giving matters to your institution.
In this On Demand program, brought to you by the Gonser Gerber Institute and Senior Consultant Pam Spencer, we will discuss best practices for utilizing major gift societies, including the importance of cumulative lifetime giving recognition programs, and how to use giving societies as an opportunity to steward donors for greater giving.
In this webinar, we will:
- Touch on the three primary donor recognition programs: annual gifts, lifetime gifts, and planned gifts.
- Review and discuss the importance of gift policies which guide how gifts are counted toward giving society qualification.
- Consider recognition opportunities for donors to all these giving societies, and review options to make this more manageable and sustainable.
- Highlight ways to not only list members of giving societies in your print materials, but how to create feature content in annual reports to market the program.
- Share examples of annual or bi-annual donor recognition events where annual giving societies, cumulative lifetime giving societies, and planned giving societies are all recognized.
